Crack.Rock.Approved./"Loonies to Blow" A-Trak

A-Trak remixes Birdman's "Money to Blow" for his new mash-up album. The track opens with a conch shell being blown and is immediately followed by a laser shit storm. A-Trak keeps the best part of the "Money to Blow" beat and sprinkles it in between Drake's punchlines. Wayne is completely eliminated from the track, but Birdman makes his appearance at the end. I wasn't even aware that this was his song so that's cool that A-Trak gave him his place in the remix instead of giving us another Lil-Wayne anthem to bang. This probably won't be bumping in the back of most Drake's listener's trunks, but this house/dance track will be one that will keep indie dancefloors and house parties streaked by Supra soles.

New Crack.Rock.Rating scale---> 3.5/5

Crack.Rock Approved: Stillness is the Move

Indie band Dirty Projectors has a created a rare jewel in form of a song. 'Stillness is the Move' is something Crack.Rock.Surprise has never heard before. It Perfectly blends its electro-rock loop with soulful harmonies sung by the band's white female lead singers. We're not racist or anything, but we have never heard white girls sing like this before (except maybe Xtina or Joss Stone, but never like this). This Band's album Bitte Orca was named one of Complex magazine's top 25 albums of 2009.
This song is a few months old. Solange Knowles even recorded a cover of the track over an instrumental of Soul Mann & The Brothers’ 'Bumpy’s Lament' (also sampled in Dr. Dre's 'Xplosive' and Erykah Badu's 'Bag Lady'). Solange's version is a lot more R&B than the original, but her song choice shows that she is trying to go a different direction in music. She was quoted saying she wants to have a career like Bjork's.

Crack Rock Approved: Plantlife/Nina Sky - Love 4 The World/Turnin' Me On

To download, right click Here
This is a track mixed by Diplo on his Fabric Live 24. Fabric is a hot spot for music in the London scene. This is the 24th installment of their series of compilation albums. Diplo has been doing shows there for years and is very popular with UK radio. I'm surprised I didn't hear about this earlier.
Anyways, the sizzling groove on Plant Life's "Love 4 the World" under Nina Sky's sexual voices makes this a pretty delicious track. I apologize for the ridiculously adjectives.

Gaining Airplay: Nicki Minaj - I Get Crazy

Young Money representative Nicki Minaj has finally begun getting radio play in Cleveland, OH. Why is this important? It is important becasue Cleveland is one of the slowest markets in the US to get music. Bassically, Cleveland is late. So when a new artist starts to get airplay there, it means that artist has made it to some above-mediocre level of popularity. Congratulations, Miss Minaj.
The single being played isn't quite a single. Like Drake 6 months ago, Nicki is getting radio play on mixtape tracks. This one is called 'I Get Crazy'. Download it HERE
The picture above is from a shoot she did with Honey Magazine. Honey Mag's choice in interviewees has been interesting lately. Maybe two months ago they featured FeFe Dobson.

Download This: Lady GaGa - Bad Romance

Bad Romance is a track from GaGa's re-release of her debut album The Fame. It's interesting. It has a horror movie feel to it.

Download This: Kid Cudi x Ratatat - Alive

Alive is our favorite track off the Cudi Album. It's one of Cudi's best collaborations thus far. He gives love to the indie-electro-pot head crowd and he receives love back from them. He should keep going in that direction and see where it leads him. With half of the rappers that used to be around either dead or in jail, rap is about to be a thing of the past. It's up to new comers like Cudi and Drake to pave the way for something new to come about.

Black Eyed Peas Tracks Worth Your Time

BEP "meet me halfway" PMS from PrettyMonkeyStudio on Vimeo.

There are two Black Eyed Peas songs that have come to our attention!
The Black Eyed Peas released its fifth album, Energy Never Dies (The E.N.D.), this past Summer. The success of their number-one single, Boom Boom Pow (like Kid Cudi's single 'Day 'N'Nite') confirms that there is indeed a taste for electro-hip hop in the market. E.N.D. is on its 16th week hanging above the top 20 on Billboard's Top 200.
Here's the point: B.E.P. has released it's third single off the album, 'Meet Me Halfway', and it has caught our attention. Will.I.Am took 80s new wave very seriously when he picked the direction for this song. The vocal arrangement sort of has Fergie sounding like Olivia Newton John in 3008. It works for us, though. We're sure the video will be totally random. Almost as random as the one above.

'Missing You' is another good song off E.N.D. It is another techno-hip hop ballad. Give it about 40 seconds to kick it.

Complex October Issue

Clipse is back with their third album and are covering Complex's October issue. Don't ask us when they came out with a second. We had no idea one existed. Their new single featuring Pharrell is HOTT, though.

Former Buffy rival, Eliza Dushku, is staring in a new series called DollHouse. Guess they made her lose weight for the role because she looks sick. Not in a good way. If you divert your eyes behind the skinny white girl, you will notice some sick (in a good way) magazine design.

Download This: Get Fresh - Kid Sister

Photo via Google

Kid Sister is one of those artists who just never blew up the way they were supposed to. We're not trying to say that she has the most talent, but instead trying to say that she just never blew up. (She's not dead, btw)

This track is probably old, though. We only heard it two days ago and fell in love. It's definitely Crack Rock approved. It's from the album "Dream Date" (we're not sure if ever it dropped). We admire her delivery on this track. It's like she's the Domino's girl delivering a hot box of cockiness and swagtastic articulation.

Indie Track: Metronomy - Not Made For Love (Joakim Remix)

Photobucket
Metronomy (above) in the video for their song "Radio Ladio".

"Not Made For Love" is a cool track. The beginning is a bit annoyingly all synth, but once the beat drops and the lyrics kick in the song is pretty dope. The alien voice at the end is kind of creepy, though. That may have been added by Joakim, though. The Fader called him a "Goober". I was temporarily addicted to this song, but I think I'm over it now. That doesn't mean no one else can be.
