An Ode to Lachapelle

David Lachapelle has been a source of inspiration for me since I was in high school. He's been around for a long time, and he's most famous for his celebrity portraits. His initial appeal is his use of high contrast colors, but I love the translation in his photos. You can see one photo portraying Kanye as Jesus or another where a dinosaur is eating ole girl out. Currently, he has exhibits touring all across the world. One, which is currently on display in Italy, is called the Rape of Africa. I have yet to see anything from it, but I am really interested to see what the photos are like.
He also directed the "It's my Life" video for No Doubt, and the movie Rize.

Artist Spotlight: Fafi

Fafi is a female Graf Artiste from the land of French Toast. I saw her work in Complex a few years ago, but I've seen her work recently in ads for Nike, Pepsi, and HP computers. CHeck her out.
